The shallow-water skiff is part of who we are—but it doesn’t define where or how we fish.

From quietly working shallow flats under oar power to hunting muskies at first light, wading Great Lakes shorelines, chasing seasonal bites, trolling open water, or heading offshore aboard a full-size charter boat, our trips are designed around the fish, the conditions, and the experience you’re looking for.

Oar-Powered Shallow-Water Trips

Experience the quieter side of Great Lakes fishing aboard our shallow-draft skiff. Oar-powered navigation allows us to work skinny water deliberately and quietly, exploring flats, shorelines, backwaters and shallow structure while keeping the focus on fishing rather than running from spot to spot.

Depending on the season and conditions, we’ll pursue species such as smallmouth bass, carp, musky and other shallow-water opportunities using fly or conventional tackle.

Choose from 4-hour, 6-hour and full-day experiences, with instruction and equipment tailored to the trip and your experience level.

Shoreline & Wading Trips

Some of the best Great Lakes fishing doesn’t require a boat at all. Our shoreline and wading experiences focus on productive seasonal water while helping anglers better understand structure, current, wind, bait movement and changing conditions.

Open-Water Fishing

When the fish move offshore, we can follow. Northern Skiff offers access to open-water Great Lakes fishing, including trolling and other conventional techniques targeting walleye, trout, salmon, bass and other seasonal species.

Big-Boat Charters

Need more room, want to bring a group, or looking for the traditional Great Lakes charter experience? We work with trusted independent captains and guides to connect anglers with experienced crews and larger vessels suited to open-water fishing.
