Skiff Works is the boat customization and rebuild side of Northern Skiff Outdoors—created for anglers who would rather build the boat they actually need than settle for the boat someone else thinks they need.

Whether you’re breathing new life into an older fishing boat, starting with a bare hull, or simply upgrading a rig you’ve owned for years, we approach each project with one goal: make the boat work better for the way you fish.

Our services can range from targeted improvements to more involved rebuilds and custom projects, including deck and storage layouts, flooring, paint and finishes, electronics installation, electrical and power systems, hardware, seating, trailer upgrades, rigging, and fishing-specific modifications.

We especially appreciate the boats with a little history—the scratched-up skiff, forgotten aluminum hull, old river boat, or fishing rig with good bones that just needs someone to see what it could become.

Built Around the Angler

We don’t believe every fishing boat needs to look or function the same. A shallow-water fly angler needs something different from a Great Lakes walleye fisherman. A musky boat has different demands than a river skiff. Storage, weight distribution, electronics, deck space, propulsion and even where you put a rod holder can change how enjoyable a boat is to fish.

That’s why every Skiff Works project starts with a conversation about how you actually use your boat.
